Silent Screams

“I'm scared again, I'm tired of hiding, I'm tired of knowing others hide too, I'm tired of not being able to speak out loud”

While I was working on the ‘The State of Mind” initiative, I realized not only did I want to share stories of Domestic Violence Survivors but realized there is a need to showcase the ripple effect that goes beyond one person.   Domestic and family violence does not touch just one life, it touches many lives. It not only scars that individual, it impacts the children, family, first responders as well as the communities.

The feelings of shame and helplessness and having nowhere to go or to even where to look was a topic that was brought up by everyone.   The judgment of others was another.  So with these brave and courageous individuals, Silent Screams was born to highlight stories and photos of survivors who want to help others know they are never alone.
